Feeling stuck is one of the most frustrating experiences you can have as a business owner. One of the biggest reasons it feels so unfair is because you are doing the work! It’s not like you’re not putting in the hours. You are. You’re doing it right now - grinding away. You’re reading this because you found it and you want to learn. Get better. So, what’s going on? You’ve got huge dreams, a brilliant business idea simmering, and a work ethic of note. Your problem? Fear. Self-doubt. The "I'm just not good enough" narrative keeps whispering in your ear. What if I told you the problem isn’t your work ethic? It’s your mental programming. The truth is, you can rewire your brain for success - and it's not as hard as you think.
In my book, LIVE BIG, I share the simple, powerful brain exercises that helped me shift my mindset and unlock my full potential. These aren't just feel-good theories; they're high-performance hacks used by top achievers, and they're designed to help you, an ambitious woman with a vision, break through resistance and take bold action. The concepts I'm about to share with you were inspired by the incredible John Assaraf, the 'Brain Whisperer' himself, and his book "Innercise: The New Science to Unlock Your Brain's Hidden Power."
Your Brain is Programmable, So Start Giving it Better Instructions
Think of your brain as the most powerful computer in the world; a three-pound universe of complexity packed neatly inside your skull. It’s a bustling hub of billions of neurons that talk to each other constantly. Just like a computer, your brain runs on programming - and for many of us, that software is outdated. It's running on old versions like "fear of failure," "perfectionism," and "imposter syndrome". But here's the magic of neuroplasticity: you have the power to upgrade that software on purpose. Your brain can form new connections and pathways throughout your entire life, and the more you practice new habits, the stronger those connections become.
Visualization Isn't Fluff - It's a High-Performance Hack
If you think visualization is just some "woo-woo" thing, think again. Olympic athletes and top performers use it relentlessly to prime their minds for success. When you vividly picture yourself achieving a goal, your brain starts to believe it's possible. This practice activates your reticular activating system (RAS), a part of your brain that acts like a filter. It helps you notice and seize opportunities that are aligned with what you're focusing on. Instead of just dreaming about success, you're training your brain to seek it out in your everyday life.
The Power of Repetition (Because Intensity is Overrated)
You don’t need to meditate on a mountain for three hours a day to see results. The secret to change isn't intensity; it's repetition. A few minutes of consistent brain training every day is far more effective than an intense one-time session. It’s the compound effect that changes everything, strengthening those new neural pathways one small action at a time. This is how you gently train your brain to see bold action as safe, exciting, and empowering, instead of as a threat.
Anchor Your Identity to the Woman You're Becoming
Stop saying, "I'm trying to start my business" or "I'm trying to be more organized." That language signals to your brain that you're not fully committed. Instead, anchor your identity to the woman you are becoming. A simple language tweak can create a massive identity shift. Try saying, "I am a woman who is building her dream business" or "I am the kind of woman who keeps her promises to herself". This isn't empty hype; it's a declaration rooted in the belief that your future self is already within you, just waiting to be unleashed.
Rewire Your Brain for Success: The CBD Framework
This is the core of the work. It's time to let go of the "Have-Do-Be" fallacy - the belief that you need to have something first before you can do what it takes and finally be the person you want to be. Allie, a brilliant entrepreneur I worked with, fell into this trap. She believed she had to have a successful business first before she could be a CEO and do the work of putting a legal structure in place. This led to wasted time and stress.
I want you to flip the script with the Commit-Be-Do (CBD) framework. This is how you proactively rewire your brain for success.
Commit: Commit to your desired outcomes from the start.
Be: Actively be the person who has already achieved those outcomes. What decisions does that person make? What habits do they have?
Do: Now, do the things that person would do. Make decisions with a millionaire mindset. Build a network that fuels your success. Structure your time like a well-oiled machine.
By living the CBD framework, you become the architect of your success story, not a character just reacting to circumstances.
